The apparatus (1) has determining unit which determines set torque (M-soll) of electric motor (2). A control unit (3) is provided for converting the target torque in target phase currents (i-soll) of the motor. The control unit is provided with a control line model (F) for determining the parameters (P1-Pn) from the target torque. The sensor (6) is provided for detecting the actual phase currents (i-ist) and sending the actual phase currents to observer (7) such that the correction values (P1*-Pn*) for parameters are determined corresponding to actual phase currents. An independent claim is included for method for controlling electric motor.
