<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with existing contamination by radioactive substances. <P>SOLUTION: A method of processing soil containing radioactive substances includes; a step of accommodating soil containing radioactive substances and water, a water soluble liquid, or a mixture thereof in a container such that the soil is immersed in the water, the water soluble liquid, or the mixture thereof to a level that covers the surface thereof, and then heat processing the soil with the container hermetically sealed and the water, the water soluble liquid, or the mixture thereof in a subcritical condition; and a step of separating the heat-processed mixture into liquid content and solid content. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
