<p>A fastener (1) for sheet objects comprises first and second portions (3, 4) which are positioned or are positionable in an adjacent spaced relationship with respect to each other so as to define a sheet object receiving region (10) therebetween. Piercing means (25) are provided which are movably mounted on the first portion (3), the piercing means (25) being adapted so as to pierce one or more sheet objects disposed within the sheet object receiving region (10) when moved into an operative state in which the piercing means (25) extends across the sheet object receiving region (10) between the first and second portions (3, 4). The fastener (1) further comprises retaining means (30) for retaining the piercing means (25) in the operative position when moved thereto.</p> |
