PURPOSE: An electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor with an increased lift-off is provided to prevent damage to a coil of the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor caused by a metal material of high temperature by increasing the lift-off of the electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor. CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor comprises a magnetic field generating unit(2) and a planar coil unit(10). A magnetic pole of the magnetic field generating unit is toward the surface of the metal material. The electromagnetic ultrasonic sensor is arranged separately from the surface of the metal material. The coil unit is arranged in a space where the magnetic field generating unit and the metal material are separated and generates alternative magnetic fields. The coil unit is bent into an arch shape so that the direction of the alternative magnetic fields is focused on the surface of the metal material.
