The device has a holder (30) connected with a processing unit (15), where the device is sectionally insertable into an inner space of a gas turbine (10) through an aperture of a housing (12) in a partially assembled state of the gas turbine. The processing unit processes a sealing element (16), after insertion of the device, under relative movement of the processing unit with respect to the sealing element. The holder is formed for releasably fixing the device at the housing and/or between adjacent moving blades (20) of a rotor (18). An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a seal element.
