SECONDARY BATTERY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A secondary battery is provided to effectively prevent the movement of an electrode assembly in a secondary battery by improving the shape of a beading part in a battery can, thereby preventing damages and fractures of a cap assembly. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery comprises: an electrode assembly(300) which has a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode arranged around a separator; an upper insulating plate(400) which consists of an insulating material and is located on the upper part of the electrode assembly; a battery can(100) with a beading part(110) which accommodates the electrode assembly and liquid electrolyte, bent downwards and pressurizes the upper side of the upper insulating plate; and a cap assembly(200) which is coupled to the open end of the battery can. The beading part is formed to be higher than the upper insulating plate.
