PURPOSE: A touch screen device and an operation method of the touch screen device are provided to recognize touch by comparing a first image with a second image, thereby increasing accuracy of touch recognition. CONSTITUTION: A driving unit(107) generates a first driving signal related to power of an infrared ray generation unit(103) and a second driving signal related to sensing in a sensor unit(105) by considering touch. The driving unit drives the infrared ray generation unit and the sensor unit corresponding to the first driving signal and the second driving signal. A screen unit(101) is connected to the touch and diffuses infrared rays generated in infrared ray generation unit. The sensor unit senses the infrared rays or an external light source.
