<p>The method involves completely applying solution of polymer i.e. thermoplastic polymer, on a carrier layer, and carrying out coagulation of the polymer by using a coagulation medium containing water or alcohol such that porous polymer layer is formed on the carrier layer. An intermediate layer is formed on a side of the carrier layer, and the polymer solution is applied on the intermediate layer. The carrier layer is heated at temperature of preferably 90 to 150 degrees Celsius before application of the polymer solution. The porous layer is mechanically processed after drying. The polymer solution contains filling material and/or pore forming material e.g. micro fibers, plastic balls, glass balls, ceramic balls, plastic fibers, glass fibers, carbon fibers, metal fibers, ceramic fibers, layer silicates or salts. An independent claim is also included for a cover for a paper machine.</p> |
