A vehicle ladder roof box 10 comprises a substantially oblong shape container 20 wherein one of the ends 34, having the smallest area, has a door 60 for receiving a ladder 70. Carrying ladders on vehicle roofs has many associated problems such as reduced fuel efficiency, increase in noise, lack of security and lack of cleanliness which are alleviated by using a roof box.
