Rh0(D) testing serum is produced by washing the blood cells of macacus fuscatus with physiological saline solution, injecting the washed cells into one or more rabbits, goats or guinea pigs, collecting the blood of these animals, separating the serum, inactivating the serum by heating and absorbing the thus inactivated immune serum with a vehicle acceptable to Rh0 negative (d) antigen. Inactivation of the serum may be by heating at 50 DEG to 60 DEG C. for 1/2 hour. The serum is then adsorbed on saliva, the product obtained by treating saliva with alcohol, or an Rh0 negative (d) human blood, e.g. ccdE and ccde blood. The testing of human blood by means of the above serum to determine whether the blood is rhesus positive (agglutination with serum) or rhesus negative (no agglutination with serum) may be done over the range 15 DEG C. to 37 DEG C. |
