<p>A method for preparing an ionic compound by mixing at least one compound of formula CxAy-zH2O (1) with at least one hydrogen donor and heating the mixture obtained is provided. The said ionic compound remains in a physical state selected from the group consisting of liquid and semisolid at a temperature below 150° C., preferably below 125° C.</p>
