In a pump for abrasive or corrosive liquids, the double acting piston engaging pumping diaphragms 25a ,25b comprises two heads 6a, 6b, e.g. of light alloy, disposed on either side of a sliding block 8, e.g. of anti-friction metal, mounted on an eccentric 16, piston heads 6a, 6b being connected together by a skirt 11 shrunk on to piston extensions 7a, 7b and formed with apertures for the passage of the drive shaft 15. The piston heads may be coated with a plastics material, e.g. a polyamide. The peripheries of the pumping and accumulator diaphragms are grooved to provide sealing lips. Skirt 11 may be crimped on to extensions 7a, 7b. Hand steel discs may be located between sliding block 8 and the piston heads. The accumulator chamber 41 has a pressure-relief valve. Lubricating passages 12 are provided through skirt 11. |
