PURPOSE: A designing method of ultra water-repellent surface structure is provided to obtain optimum water repellency performance by forming Cassie-Baxter(CB) state from water droplets by controlling gaps according to the shape of surface protrusions. CONSTITUTION: A designing method of ultra water-repellent surface structure comprises a step of obtaining information of surface tension of water, pressure of water droplet, pressure difference of vapor, width and height of protrusion; a step of obtaining critical distance between protrusions by applying the parameters into a critical distance-calculating formula; a step of optimizing the protrusion structure by using the critical distance. The ultra water-repellent surface structure includes rectangular, cylindrical, and hemisphere shape.
