Downloading tuning values for an RF module and storing in external memory

A mechanism is provided for providing tuning values, also known as calibration parameters, to an RF radio module that does not have memory for storing tuning values. A host device 20 (such as a phone, car stereo or navigation device) includes the RF radio module 24 and a memory 23 suitable for storing the tuning values. The host device requests tuning values from a server (31, Fig. 3). Tun­ing values received in response are stored in the memory of the host device and applied to the RF radio module.
