The lubricator has a container (12) containing a lubricant and comprising an orifice (18) for discharging the lubricant. A lubricator state signaling circuit (28) includes a light source (30) to transmit an alarm signal light. A cover (32) attached to the container defines a geometric reference axis (A) of the lubricator. A light diffuser guides the light to light outputs over the circumference of the cover, so that one of the light outputs is visible irrespective of the position of an observer facing the lubricator. The diffuser is located and centered on the reference axis of the lubricator.
