PURPOSE: A cost prediction system for marine pipeline construction and a method thereof are provided to automatically reflect all factors for cost prediction based on detail information and past achievements on marine pipeline construction, thereby improving efficiency of cost prediction. CONSTITUTION: A cost prediction system for marine pipeline construction comprises an interface management unit configured to receive input value of each item(S110); a basic cost acquisition unit(120) configured to calculate the cost of each item(S130); and a predicted cost calculation unit. The items included in basic construction data are classified into a general item(S111), a pipe related item(S112), a kind and use duration of installation ships (S113), and a number of transport vehicles and transportation duration item(S114). The interface management unit calculates unit cost of each item in basic construction data based on an estimate of marine pipeline construction(S120), which determines an office cost($/month)(S121), a materials/subcontract cost($/m)(S122), a cost of ship, labor, and ship materials($/day)(S123), and a daily cost of ship transportation($/day)(S120). The basic cost acquisition unit calculates an operation cost of land office(S131), a cost of main material/subcontract(S132), a cost of ship use, a cost of labor, a cost of ship material/sub-material(S133), a cost of ship transportation(S134). The basic cost acquisition unit calculates direct cost by excluding communal cost, provides the calculated direct cost to the a prediction cost estimation unit(S140), and calculates communal cost, indirect cost and extra cost of all items(S150). The prediction cost estimation unit estimates the predicted cost by summing the direct cost, communal cost, and indirect/extra cost(S160). By comparing the estimated prediction cost and an actual tender price(S170), the prediction cost estimation unit determines the estimated prediction cost is a final prediction cost if the difference between the estimated prediction cost and an actual tender price is less than a threshold ratio(S180).
