APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SYNCHRONIZATION CONTROL FOR MBS SERVICES

PURPOSE: A synchronization control apparatus for a MBS[Multicast/Broadcast Service]and a method thereof are provided to provide a mobile IPTV service which is based on Wibro and WiFi networks using a macro diversity signal improvement effect. CONSTITUTION: An access network gateway(100) includes a data distribution unit(110) and a synchronization controller(120). The data distribution unit distributes and transmits MBS data which is inputted in the access network gateway to multiple base stations(200-1~200-N). The synchronization controller receives a MBS data packet and generates and provides a synchronization control rule and MBS burst timing data in order to be performed in an upper synchronizer(220) which is included in the base stations. The MBS data packet takes off GRE[Generic Routing Encapsulation]from the data distribution unit and is de-capsulated.
