PURPOSE: A UI(User Interface) providing method of a portable terminal and a device thereof are provided to display a UI screen which includes items as a 3D form, thereby enabling a user to easily understand a UI structure. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen(130) outputs a 3D UI screen which includes a first area for displaying items and a second area for managing the items. A control unit(110) controls a process which manages the items by using the second area. The 3D UI screen is a cylinder form or a prism form. The first area is located at a side of a cylinder or a prism. The second area is located at a bottom of the cylinder or the prism.
