PURPOSE: A payment method and apparatus using a payment code is provided to allow a customer to directly pay for a product or service using a mobile terminal, thereby preventing card information of the customer from being exposed to a third party. CONSTITUTION: When a customer orders a product(S300), a product provider inputs information and price of a corresponding product in a POS terminal(S310). The POS terminal issues and prints out a payment code which includes order information and payment amount(S320). When a product provider presents the printed payment code to the customer, the customer makes a mobile terminal to read the payment code by contacting the mobile terminal to the printed payment code(S330). If the payment is normally completed, the mobile terminal and the POS terminal receive a payment approval message(S340). After receiving the payment approval message, the POS terminal completes the payment of the product and prints out a receipt(S350).
