PURPOSE: A user certificating method and an apparatus performing the same are provided to certificate an opponent without using a certification server. CONSTITUTION: A first device(100) is connected with a second device(200) and a P2P on a network. The first device includes a communication unit(110), a display unit(120), a user input unit(130), and a certification unit(140). The communication unit connects the first device with the second device through the network. The display unit displays real time user image information which is from the second device. The user input unit receives certification information from a first device user. The certification unit certificates a second device user based on the certification information. The second device includes a photographing unit(250). A photographing unit obtains real time image information which includes the face of a user.
