<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a brass plated steel wire capable of preventing disconnection of a brass plated steel wire material and reducing an amount of energy consumption in a final wire drawing step, and to provide the brass plated steel wire, a steel cord, and a pneumatic tire. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the brass plated steel wire includes a plating step for performing brass plating on a steel wire material, and a final wire drawing step for performing final wire drawing work on an obtained brass plated steel wire material. The method includes a zinc oxide reduction step for reducing an amount of zinc oxide on the surface of the brass plated steel wire material before the final wire drawing step, and a film coating step for providing a lubricating film on the surface of the brass plated steel wire material obtained after the zinc oxide reduction step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
