<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas insulated voltage transformer including an electric field relaxing shield which can be easily attached to a primary coil. <P>SOLUTION: In a gas insulated voltage transformer, a voltage transforming element 1 is housed in a container 2 which is sealed with an insulating spacer 4 including an embedded conductor 4c and is filled with an insulating gas, and the embedded conductor and the voltage transforming element are connected by a connecting conductor 5.
