摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which one phase difference compensation element is provided outside a liquid crystal panel without occupying a large space even though the phase difference compensation element performs viewing angle compensation, and provide an electronic apparatus including the liquid crystal device. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal panel 11 of a liquid crystal device 3, a liquid crystal layer 33 provided between a counter substrate 31 and an element substrate 32 has negative dielectric anisotropy and a liquid crystal molecule 33B is tilted from a normal direction with respect to a substrate surface. Outside the liquid crystal panel 11 is provided a first phase difference compensation element 12 having negative uniaxial refractive index anisotropy and having the optical axis along a thickness direction. Inside the liquid crystal panel 11 is provided integrally a second phase difference compensation element 50 having a structural birefringence layer with a slow axis orthogonal to the slow axis of the liquid crystal layer 33 on one of the counter substrate 31 and the element substrate 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
