PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device which enhances user's usability by accepting a job even when the job processing request is received while software is being updated.

SOLUTION: An image forming device comprises: a plurality of modules operating independently of each other; and flash ROMs which are installed in the respective modules and store software operated by each module. When a job is received while one of the modules updates software, a main CPU 201 determines whether a module to be used for the job is updating the software. Then, when it is determined that the module to be used for the job is updating the software, the main CPU waits to execute the job until the module terminates the software update.
