<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises a first substrate AR, a second substrate CT, and a liquid crystal layer LQ held between the first substrate AR and the second substrate CT. The first substrate AR comprises: a plurality of pixel electrodes PE arranged in matrix; a gate wire G extending along a row where the pixel electrodes are arranged; a source wire S extending along a column; an electrode EB which is disposed in the same layer as the pixel electrode PE in a region around a region ACT where the pixel electrodes PE are arranged and which electrically connects a first conductor and a second conductor, the first conductor being disposed in the same layer as the gate wire G and the second conductor being disposed in the same layer as the source wire S; and projections 200 provided along an end of the electrode EB.
