CALIBRATION DEVICE OF IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND IMAGE DISPLAY SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform calibration accurately according to a feature of an image actually displayed on an image display apparatus while suppressing time required for calibration.

SOLUTION: A display history of an image display apparatus is used to determine a color measurement point. History obtaining means which obtains information on a frequency distribution history of grayscale in multiple pieces of image data input up to a present time; calibration means which measures display luminance at the time of displaying an image for color measurement corresponding to each gray scale for each of multiple grayscales which is less than the number of whole grayscales and performs calibration on the basis of a difference between the measured value and a target value of display luminance corresponding to each grayscale; and selection means which selects as a grayscale for measuring display luminance by the calibration means plural grayscales at least including a predetermined number of grayscales selected in order of high frequencies among histories of frequency distribution of grayscale obtained by the history obtaining means from among all whole grayscales.
