<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal provided with portability and display expandability, and a method for driving the portable terminal. <P>SOLUTION: An image outputted by a display 220 of a second body 200 transmits through a transparent display 120 of a first body 100 in a closed state, the transparent display 120 and the display 220 independently output the image or combinedly output the image in an opened state, which thereby the image is outputted in the form of respectively combining associated images representing one image.
