<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for a projector and so on, which is capable of keeping a temperature of a light source fixed even in the case of variation of the amount of light which is not used for display and is absorbed into a projector to generate heat. <P>SOLUTION: A projector according to one embodiment of the invention includes a light source, a temperature adjustment mechanism, a memory, and a temperature control unit. The light source emits light for displaying an image. The temperature adjustment mechanism adjusts a temperature of the light source. An image scheduled to be displayed is preliminarily stored in the memory before display of the image. The temperature control unit measures temporal variation in brightness of the image scheduled to be displayed, on the basis of the image scheduled to be displayed, which is stored in the memory. Before the image scheduled to be displayed has brightness varied after being actually displayed, the temperature control unit preliminarily controls the temperature of the light source by the temperature adjustment mechanism on the basis of the temporal variation in brightness of the image scheduled to be displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
