<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that it is difficult to materialize a large capacity charger using a transformer of commercial frequency or a single phase high frequency transformer, in a small size and at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The power converter comprises an AC-DC conversion circuit which rectifies an AC power supply and converts an AC current into a DC current, a DC-AC inversion circuit which inverts the DC current into a high frequency three-phase AC voltage including pulses equal to 3N (N is an integer of 1 or more) times of the basic wave frequency in on half period, where the basic wave frequency is higher than the frequency of the AC power supply, a three-phase high frequency transformer having a primary winding being connected with the output of the DC-AC inversion circuit, a rectifier circuit for rectifying the secondary winding voltage of the three-phase high frequency transformer, and a filter circuit being connected with the DC output of the rectifier circuit.
