<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device capable of more appropriately supporting driving by a driver. <P>SOLUTION: The driving support device for supporting driving of a vehicle comprises: a vehicle speed sensor for detecting a travel speed of a vehicle; an infrastructure communication unit for obtaining information on a signal cycle at which indication on a traffic signal installed in a travelling direction of the vehicle switches; a position calculation unit for calculating relative position information between the vehicle and the traffic signal; and a passing support control unit. The passing support control unit detects a driving condition in an intersection point closer than the target traffic signal, and according to the driving condition and a current vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor, calculates a correction vehicle speed. The passing support control unit determines whether a traffic signal point can be passed through according to the correction vehicle speed, the relative position information between the vehicle and the traffic signal point where the traffic signal is installed, and information on the signal cycle obtained by the infrastructure communication part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
