<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drying device in which the temperature of a wax pattern can be monitored during drying of a mold-forming molding body. <P>SOLUTION: A drying device 10 includes a drying vessel 14 for housing a mold-forming molding body 12, microwave irradiation units 16a to 16f for irradiating the mold-forming molding body 12 housed in the drying vessel 14 with microwaves, a thermocouple 32 disposed in a dummy molding body housed in the mold-forming molding body 12 or the drying vessel 14 and having a wax part formed of a wax material, and a control unit 40 for controlling the microwave irradiation units 16a to 16f and the thermocouple 32.
