<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a request for a user selection by determining when a navigation device is actually needed when the navigation device is used by a plurality of users. <P>SOLUTION: A current location detecting unit detects a current location when a navigation device is activated. User selection determination means compares the detected current location with a registered point such as a home or a company that is registered in a storage unit. If the comparison shows that the current location is within a predetermined distance range or within a predetermined travel range from the registered point, a request for a user selection is made.
