<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image display unit that makes it possible to satisfactorily view an image even when the image is viewed through polarization sunglasses, that can be easily thinned even when a protective film is provided for preventing panel scatter and scratch, and that hinders occurrence of interference fringe. <P>SOLUTION: The image display unit comprises: an image display module in which light emitted from an image display part is linear polarization; a transparent panel provided on the upper part of the image display module, and having a protective film stuck to at least one face thereof. In the image display unit, the protective film has a hard coat layer on at least one face of a 1/4λ phase difference film. On the surface of an image display screen, an angle θ1 between a polarization direction of the linear polarization emitted from the image display part and the direction of a delayed phase axis of the 1/4λ phase difference film, and an angle θ2 between the polarization direction of the linear polarization emitted from the image display part and the direction of the other axis of the 1/4λ phase difference film are both 15 to 75°. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
