PURPOSE: A drivable distance estimating system of an electric vehicle and a method thereof are provided to use the driving pattern information of a driver when accelerating or decelerating and the driving information of the driving region, thereby estimating an exact drivable distance. CONSTITUTION: A remaining charging capacity information calculation unit(300) calculates the remaining charging capacity information of a battery. A driving pattern information producing unit(400) produces the driving pattern information of a driver on a real-time basis. An driving information producing unit(600) produces the driving information which includes the location of currently driving region, an average velocity of a vehicle, and the real-time basis traffic information. A drivable distance estimating unit(700) uses the remaining charging capacity information, the driving pattern information, and the driving information to estimate the drivable distance of the vehicle. A signal input and output unit(100) indicates various information for estimating the drivable distance.
