<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a platform fence of which the installation space in the length direction of a platform can be reduced (shortened) and which resists wind pressure generated when a train arrives/departs or passes and besides, suppresses or eliminates equipment costs caused by reinforcing constructions or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The platform fence is provided as intrusion prevention equipment and comprises: columnar bodies 10 and connecting bodies 40 which are connected in a movable manner to a beam B of a platform; a plurality of multistage extending/contracting bodies 20 which extend/contract between the columnar bodies 10 and the connecting bodies 40 and are installed approximately horizontally with respect to a platform ground surface E; columnar body driving device 80 and connecting body driving device 50 which indirectly drive the multistage extending/contracting bodies 20, and the like. The multistage extending/contracting bodies 20 extend approximately horizontally with respect to the platform ground surface E.
