<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforced woven fabric having improved strength in the warp and weft directions. <P>SOLUTION: A reinforced woven fabric 1 is a woven fabric produced by weaving lower weft yarns and upper weft yarns 4 which are arranged in upper and lower layers with respect to warp yarns 2. The warp yarns 2 and the lower weft yarns are high-strength fibers, and the upper weft yarns 4 are hemp fibers or cotton fibers. The warp yarns 2 and the lower weft yarns form a base woven fabric having a rib weave structure, and the upper weft yarns 4 are woven into the surface of the base woven fabric. The high-strength fibers are preferably high-strength polyarylate fibers.
