<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve data transmission that is efficient on a bus arrangement. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of driving a bus arrangement including a master and k slaves as subscribers, a header 85 of an inquiry frame 84 including k information fields 96, 98, 100, 102 is transmitted by the master to the slave. The m-th information fields 96, 98, 100, 102 are assigned to the m-th slaves, respectively, and the information about how much data is transmitted to the master by the m-th slaves is written in the m-th information fields 96, 98, 100, 102 assigned to the m-th slaves by the m-th slaves.
