<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spark plug 1 for an internal combustion engine capable of suppressing anti-inflammatory action and improving ignitability and operating life, and its mounting structure. <P>SOLUTION: The spark plug 1 comprises: a housing 2; an insulator 3; a center electrode 4 and a ground electrode 5. Projection parts 41, 6 projecting toward a spark discharge gap 11, are respectively arranged on both of a tip of the center electrode 4 and an opposing part 52 of the ground electrode 5. In either of the projection parts 41, 6, opposing surfaces 410, 60 opposed to the spark discharge gap 11, are tilted to a surface orthogonal to a plug axis direction. The spark discharge gap 11 is configured that it gradually increases in a direction orthogonal to the plug direction from a small gap 111 at one edge side toward a large gap 112 at the other edge side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
