<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current sensing technique particularly suitable for use in applications where constant or highly frequent monitoring of fluctuating current is required. <P>SOLUTION: A current sensor includes; a voltmeter for detecting voltage across a shunt resistor; a constant current source for supplying reference current to the shunt resistor; a switching section for switching on/off the connection between the shunt resistor and the constant current source; a resistance computation section for computing resistance of the shunt resistor at substantially random multiple timings on the basis of a first voltage across the shunt resistor detected by the voltmeter while the shunt resistor is connected to the constant current source, a second voltage across the shunt resistor detected by the voltmeter while the shunt resistor is not connected to the constant current source, and the reference current; a memory for storing resistance values computed by the computation section at multiple timings; and an average value computation section for computing the average value of the resistance values stored in the memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
