<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift-by-wire system capable of suppressing erroneous determination of an actual range. <P>SOLUTION: A SBW-ECU 13 determines an actual range of an automatic transmission 20 based on a detected rotational position of a manual shaft 51.
