<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability in manually releasing a parking lock, in a device for performing parking lock and releasing the parking lock by driving an actuator, and manually releasing the parking lock. <P>SOLUTION: A tubular cam 40 which presses a parking pawl 24 against a parking gear 22 and releases it, is inserted in a parking rod 26 through a cam spring 50. A socket 68 is brought into contact with a surface opposite a surface in contact with the cam spring 50 of the cam 40. The socket 68 is connected to a shift-by-wire actuator 61 through a push rod 66, an actuator lever 64, and an actuator rod 62.
