<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption and to treat a heart failure over a long period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A nerve stimulator 1 includes: a stimulus signal generation part 4 for outputting stimulus signals to a vagus nerve M; heart rate detection parts 6-8 for detecting a heart rate; a nerve stimulation response detection part 5 for detecting response signals of the nerve to the stimulus signals output from the stimulus signal generation part 4 when the decline in the heart rate detected by the heart rate detection parts 6-8 is not detected for the output of the stimulus signals to the vagus nerve M from the stimulus signal generation part 4; and a stimulation strength adjustment part for adjusting the strength of the stimulus signals output by the stimulus signal generation part 4 so as to be increased when the response signals of the nerve are not detected by the nerve stimulation response detection part 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
