<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and permanently exclude ferrite particles from an oil stream according to a method for saving an installation space as far as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A filter arrangement for filtering oil or ATF liquid, in particular, a transmission oil filter comprises at least first and second filtering layers which are disposed within a filter casing while being separated by at least one spacer, and at least the one spacer forms at least one intermediate chamber between the first and the second filtering layers.
