PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve servo destabilization caused by occurrence of pseudo focus error.

SOLUTION: A recording head device is used that includes: a light source for outputting recording light; and an optical system including an object lens to be an emission end of recording light from the light source to a recording medium and guiding recording light from the light source to the object lens. Here, axial chromatic aberration of emission light from the object lens is set to be equal to or less than λ/(2 NA2) with respect to center wavelength λ of recording light and numerical aperture NA of the object lens.
