<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiseptic antimicrobial composition excellent in an antimicrobial property, solubility and safety, because the antimicrobial property, solubility and safety are insufficient, although parabens, phenoxyethanol, benzoate, an alkyl glyceryl ether of 8-12C alkyl chain length, and an alkyl glycerol ester of 8-12C alkyl chain length are often used for the antiseptic antimicrobial purpose of a cosmetic. <P>SOLUTION: The problem is solved by making a monoalkyl monoglyceryl ether having 50 wt.% of monoester content, and a monoalkyl polyglyceryl ether having 50 wt.% of monoester content contained.
