<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging method and a charging device for a battery of a motor car that are advantageous for simplification and weight-saving of a motor car-side configuration. <P>SOLUTION: By inserting a charging gun 46 into a recessed part 30, a power feeding connector 50 and a power receiving connector 24 are connected with each other, and simultaneously, a connection part 55 is connected to a battery cooling flow channel 20, and the battery cooling flow channel 20 and a heat medium flow channel 41 are connected with each other. A controller 76, simultaneously with the start of a charging operation of a charging part 58, switches a switching part 60 to communicate the heat medium flow channel 41 with the battery cooling flow channel 20 via the connection part 55 and to activate a pump 66.
