<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bring a point of action, which is generated by the resultant of a belt axle load and a spring load, closer to the axial center of a bearing member, in an auto tensioner. <P>SOLUTION: The auto tensioner includes a fixed member 10, and a movable member 20 which includes a boss part 22 externally fitted in a circumferentially oscillatable manner to a shank 12 thereof and a pulley 29 rotatably and pivotally supported in a position offset with respect to the center of oscillation of the boss part 22 and brought into contact with a belt on an outer peripheral surface. An insert bearing 40 is arranged between the boss part 22 and the shank 12, and a torsion coil spring 50 having a two-or-more-wound coil part 51 and reducing a diameter by an oscillating motion of the movable member 20 is arranged around the boss part 22. A spring support 60 for attenuating the oscillation of the movable member 20 is provided between an outer periphery of the shank 12 and an inner periphery of the torsion coil spring 50. A protrusion 70 (load transfer suppressing means) restrains a load, which is applied to a first turn 51a of the torsion coil spring 50, from being transferred to the boss part 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
