<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a counting method for, when the misalignment of sheets is detected or any non-uniform sheet or the like is included in the case of counting a plurality of sheets, preventing miscount by indicating that the sheets are in an irregular state, and for indicating that the sheets are in a satisfactory counting state. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of folded sheets 1 are arranged, and irradiated with the rays of light so that a bright part 5 can be generated in a back part 2, and that a shadow part 6 can be generated in a concave part between the backs. The sheets 1 are imaged by a television camera 7, and an obtained image signal is converted into a signal of the intensity of a color multi-valued with respect to each color by an analog/digital conversion circuit 9. A signal of the intensity of the color of each of configuring points configuring one horizontal scanning line 1, the intensity of the color of each of the configuring points being compared with that of a bent line as a calculated reference, and determined to be higher, is compared with preceding and succeeding signals by several numbers for the one horizontal scanning line, it is determined that the pickup image is the shadow part when the intensity of each of the colors of the configuring points is higher than the intensity of all the preceding and succeeding colors to be compared, the determined bright parts are integrated as the number of sheets, and the number of sheets is counted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
