<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely avoid the contact of a coating head with an uncoated part of a support without complicated adjustment. <P>SOLUTION: The coating head 15 has a slit 21 discharging a coating liquid and applies the coating liquid discharged from the slit on the surface of a support 11 continuously conveyed to a direction intersecting to the longitudinal direction of the slit. The coating head is provided with a passage structural member 37 forming a passage 35 of a pressurized fluid for blowing compressed fluid to the uncoated part 33 of the end part of the support in the width direction.
