<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine intake device wherein oil is prevented from flowing into a catch tank 10 in a normal operating state, and a leaked coolant water is prevented from being sucked into a combustion chamber when the coolant water is leaked from an intercooler. <P>SOLUTION: In the intake device 1, the catch tank 10 is connected to a portion where the coolant water leaked on the route of an intake passage 4 is most likely to be accumulated. An opening 16c, which is a communication port between the catch tank 10 and an intake pipe 5, is arranged at a higher level relative to the lowermost part 5a in the intake pipe 5 forming the lowermost part 13a of the intake passage 4. Consequently, an oil level in the intake pipe 5 is hard to reach the opening 16c which is the communication port to the catch tank 10 in the normal operating state, thereby preventing the oil from flowing into the catch tank 10. By this, the oil is prevented from flowing into the catch tank 10 in the normal operating state, and the coolant water is conveyed to the catch tank 10 and is accumulated therein thereby preventing the coolant water from being sucked into the combustion chamber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
